Is starting wellness practices easy?
For me, they were not. However, it all depends on you, and you won’t ever know until you try. In my experience, similar to many other beginners, I had difficulty focusing and couldn’t go into a mediation for more than 1 minute max without my mind wandering off. Now, after a little experience, I find myself much more at ease, and sometimes I still may lose focus, but take a second to refocus and continue. Mindfulness and Wellness practice may come easy to you or it may not. Either way, give it a chance and just try to let it help you.

Will I immediately feel better?
Maybe, maybe you will or maybe you won’t. Everybody experiences wellness practice differently. The goal is to improve life and the mind-body connection, and certain people may immediately feel more relaxed after a mindfulness meditation, where some people may be uneasy and feel anxious as they try to focus during a meditation but are unable to do so. Just don’t give up and give it some time and I can almost guarantee you that will experience some sort of benefits after a little while as wellness practice can’t do anything but help improve your life.

I feel uncomfortable practicing wellness…
This can be a common issue for those looking to start wellness practices. You are not alone. In the past, wellness practice was viewed negatively, with different meditations viewed as foolish with no real results coming from it, however, today we know this isn’t true. People used to think that wellness practice and things even such as therapists were for people who have mental issues and need help. Yet, wellness practice is for everybody, and everybody can benefit from it. Don’t feel like something is wrong and you shouldn’t be partaking in wellness practice, it can only help you so give it a chance.

I just can’t do it. What should I do?
Don’t worry. Read the “Is starting wellness practices easy” question and answer first. Now, if you really have given wellness practice a chance but are still struggling, just relax. You are not alone and many people really struggle beginning. However, go to the Wellness Practices page on this website and look through it. Some meditations affect people better than others. Try a few new techniques and see what you find effective. For me, I used to be terrible at body scans in particular, but enjoyed food meditation and the drumming meditation. After almost a month, I got better at body scans, and now they are my favorite meditation.
